Do you have a mother? A grandmother? Aunt? Teacher? Mr. Mom?
Most people have had some sort of mother-figure in their lives. And while that “mother” may have been annoying, dysfunctional or even flat-out crazy, she/he was often maddeningly right. Now, as a grown woman, finally able to acknowledge my own ineptitude, I reflect on my self-righteous youth and realize that in many cases, I Should Have Listened To My Mother!
That having been said, it begs the question, “Is it too late?”
In this age of technology and information, which baffles me, let alone my 80 year-old mother, I submit that the lessons taught by the many mothers in my life are still maddeningly right.
I am Nancy Burke Barr, aka Mentor Mama, and I want to welcome you to my blog. I am now a mother, a professional, a friend and most decidedly, my mother’s daughter. You are always welcome here and I hope that you will consider this your second home.
Together on this blog, you and I will explore the basic lessons presented by our various “mothers”. We will attempt to discover, each in our own way, how these lessons apply today more than ever and how applying these lessons is critical to our professional success.
I look forward to traveling this path with you, sharing ideas, hearing your insights and growing into masters of the information age by FINALLY listening to our mothers.
Fondly,
Nancy
“Mentor Mama”
