“Who the Heck is Mentor Mama?
……… and Why Should You Care Anyway?”
Last question first….Why should you care anyway? Well, truth be told, there is no reason for you to care. I am just a woman; a sister, a daughter, a friend, a mother. I am not a genius. I have not won any big awards. I am not even PTA president. I am just a woman.
As a woman, however, there seems to be a component of my genetic makeup that causes me to care deeply and almost inexplicably about everyone. I am compelled to help the young man in the vegatable aisle select the best tomatoes, because he will propose over dinner tonight; I listen attentively to the retiree on the plane who just lost his wife; I comfort the sobbing teenage girl in the ladies’ room. Strangers, all, who share with me their deepest secrets, because I care.
Once again, why should you care? Because at our core, man or woman, we are not so different, you and I. You may be too shy or frightened to ask the crying teenager if she needs help….you may not know anything about tomatoes….. and you may always wear headphones on the plane…..but truth be told, there is an irresistable force in you that longs to connect with other people.
And voila, by answering the second question first, you have your answer to the first question: Who is Mentor Mama? Just a woman, who has decided to share her time, energy and caring with you, “should you choose to accept it.”

My name is Nancy Burke Barr, also known as “Mentor Mama”. When I am not driving carpool, volunteering at school, or cooking dinner, I am online connecting and talking business with as many people as I can in the world of Social Media, including YOU.
